Winter is fast approaching, and in many parts of the country that means that soon the temperatures will drop and everything will be covered in snow and ice. Luckily, there are some things your organization can do help decrease winter injuries:

- Communicate: Order safety posters and window clings to remind your employees and customers to stay safe this winter.
- Remove: See what type(s) of ice melting agents will work on your surfaces and sample language for a snow removal contract.
- Protect: Learn how to protect your employees and customers from slips and falls and other ways to keep them safe.
Taking the time to prepare prior to winter is critical. Lining up a snow removal contractor, ensuring employees are trained on documenting snow/ice removal efforts, and doing a thorough facility check to make sure there are no downspouts or overhangs causing unnecessary slip and fall hazards are all important ways to prepare.
